Hello! Today I'm back to share some new Essie Gel Couture polishes with you. The Gel Couture line is Essies answer to a long-wearing gel look manicure at home. The 2-step system consists of colour and topcoat (no basecoat is needed) and applies and removes like normal polish, without the need for a UV lamp. The polishes are also completely vegan. There are four new additions to the line - read on for my full swatches and more info!

Before getting into the individual swatches, I'll start by addressing the formulas. The polishes are all smooth and easy to apply, helped by the wide brush, and dry super glossy. The opacity varies a bit between them so I'll mention that for each one below. I applied them as intended with no basecoat and had absolutely no issue.
'Lace is More' is a white with a soft gold shimmer. Being a lighter shade, I did find that this needed three coats to build up completely. The subtle shimmer does translate to the nails to match the bottle. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Matter of Fiction' is a light pink creme. I had a couple of very minor streaks after my second coat so added a quick third. With careful application, you could definitely get away with just two. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Bodice Goddess' is a sheer pink jelly. It applies evenly and can be built up based on personal preference. I personally like it in three coats as it covers most of my nail line. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Lady in Red' is a bright classic red creme. Essie know their reds! This one was an easy two coater. Below is two coats with topcoat.
Essie also sent me some nail care goodies including a crystal nail file, a bottle of apricot cuticle oil, some good as gone remover, and a small tube of their many mani mani intensive hand lotion - everything you could need for a perfect mani!
What do you think? These are all classic Essie colours, and I've enjoyed them all so far. They have also been my first true taste of the Gel Couture line and I do appreciate how quick and easy they are to apply. What would be your top pick from the four?
