The Rainbow Nails Challenge - June 2020 Round Up

Hi lovelies! Today I'm back with another nail art challenge round up - this time for The Rainbow Nails Challenge. The Rainbow Nails Challenge was previously known as the Clairestelle8 Challenge, and is run by Alice Claire Nails (previously known as Clairestelle8) - confusing right?! Anyway, I was super happy to see Claire back on Instagram after a break, so couldn't say no to joining in for June's prompts. Read on for more info and to see all of my manis in full!

Before I get stuck in, here's a quick look at June's prompts. Claire decided to make her first challenge super simple by just using colour prompts. She also added in nail art prompts for those of us who wanted to do those. I decided to do both.

June 1st-5th - Red & Stripes

Seeing as my little boy is called Walter, I just had to do a Where's Wally (Where's Waldo in the US) inspired mani for red stripes. I stamped the stripes using Painted Polish 'Stamped in Crimson' and UberChic Beauty plate Out of Africa-01. I then stamped the 'talk nerdy to me writing' from UberChic Hipster 01, and glasses from UberChic Geek Love 01, both using Painted Polish 'Midnight Mischief'.

June 6th-10th - Orange & Dots

I made up my orange dots mani as I went after being undecided for a few days. I ended up really liking the outcome though! Over a base of Barry M Wildlife Gelly 'Desert Orange' (you can find my Wildlife Gelly swatches here), I stamped white dots and then added some pretty yellow sunflowers. I used UberChic Beauty plates 21-01 and 21-02, and Painted Polish 'Stamped in Starfruit' for my flowers.

June 11th-15th - Yellow Spirals

For yellow spirals, I started with a base of Native War Paints yellow neon 'Fall Out'. I then stamped the spiral pattern from UberChic Beauty 2-01 with Painted Polish 'Stamped in Saltwater', and paired it with the 'party animal' wording from the same plate.

June 16th-20th - Green & Zig Zags

I'm going to start this one by saying that this is my favourite mani from the whole challenge - I was SO happy with these. I created my green zig zags using a base of Barry M 'Rainforest Green', and double stamped zig zags from UberChic Got Chevron? plate using Painted Polish 'Stamped in Greenery' and 'Woodland Whimsy'. This felt very jungle-y to me, so I absolutely had to add Timon and Pumbaa, both from the Mundo De Unas Lion King plate. I finished off with a matte topcoat.

June 21st-25th - Blue & Waves

Next up was blue waves. I created my mani by double stamping waves over Barry M 'Wild Mint' using Painted Polish 'Stamped in Scales' and 'Stamped in Cinderelly', using a wavy pattern from Lina Nail Art Supplies plate Born to Sail 01. I then added Dory from Creative Shop plate 67, coloured in with Zoya 'Dory' (what else could I use?!).

June 16th-30th - Purple & Stars

Finally, the challenge finished with purple stars. For this mani I used nail vinyls. I haven't used vinyls in years but came across my stash during a recent reorganisation. I figured I'd put some to use and here's the result! The silver polish is Artistic Nail Design 'Heart of Chrome', and the purple is ORLY 'Feeling Free'.

What do you think? I'm happy to have another challenge successfully completed! I did find it really satisfying to do a rainbow of colours throughout the month, and love the way they all look together in the collage. I'm undecided whether or not to take part for July's challenge as I'm so behind on posting my manis (I have over 30 waiting to be posted!). The prompts haven't been posted yet though - so we'll see if they end up too good to resist!

Hope to see you in the next post!
Becca x
