Hello lovelies! Today I'm back with something new, a nail art challenge round up. I've watched other people take part in the Glam Nails monthly challenges for a while and wanted to join in - I just never thought I'd have the time to keep up. However, now that I've taken a small step back and reorganised how I'm blogging/posting, I thought I'd give it a go! I absolutely loved taking part for May, and I'm a bit sad it's over to be honest. It's a long post so get comfy!
Now, let's get on with all of my manis and my interpretations of each theme!
May 3rd - Tulips
I actually decided to take part on the 3rd May, so had to quickly cobble together a tulip mani. I used MoYou London plate Princess 12 for my tulip image, stamping over a base of NCLA 'Ask The Magic 8 Ball' dry brushed with both Painted Polish 'Stamped in Greenery' and 'Stamped in Sugar.
May 6th - Ladybug
For my ladybugs, I found this image on Creative Shop plate 17. I mentioned this on my Instagram, but I'm still getting used to having shorter nails in regards to stamping placement (and Creative Shop plates have very generously sized images), but I do think these turned out well! My base polish is Danglefoot Nail Polish 'Bluedapest'.

May 10th - Birds
I wanted to switch this one up a bit, so went for seagulls as my birds - that totally counts right?! Over a base of Painted Polish 'Stamped in Scales', I stamped a mottled image from Lina Nail Art Supplies plate Make Your Mark 02 using Painted Polish 'Stamped in Saltwater', 'Stamped in Cinderelly', and a white. I then stamped the seagulls from Lina Born to Sail 02. The ship is from UberChic Beauty Mermaid Life plate.

May 13th - Mandala
This is one of my favourite manis I created during the challenge. I started off with a smooshed base of all of the Barry M Rainbow Reload gellys. I then stamped one of the mandala patterns from Born Pretty Store plate Mandala S004.

May 17th - Storm
After doing quite a stormy mani for birds, I went for more of a summer rainstorm look. I created a gradient using Barry M 'Boysenberry', 'Red Sea', and 'Mandarin' and stamped a variety of images from Lina Nail Art Supplies plate 4 Seasons - Autumn 02.

May 20th - Carnation
I think carnations was the theme I initally found the hardest. I had on my base colour, Dollish Polish 'Everlasting Gobstopper' for over 24 hours before I found a carnation image - and I'm sure I found one in the end. These are carnations right?! The image is from UberChic Beauty 11-03, coloured in using Painted Polish 'Stamped in Crimson' and 'Stamped in Starfruit'.

May 24th - Bees
For my bee mani, I started with a base of Danglefoot Nail Polish 'Tweet Heart' on all nails except my ring nail, which is Barry M Wildlife Gelly 'Ocean Blue'. The stamping is all from Uberchic Beauty plates - the stripes from Got Chevron?, bees from 5-01, and the word 'happy' from Unicorn Love.

May 27th - Cupcakes
My first thought for cupcakes is always Sugar Bubbles plate SB-055. I've used this image a few times now and I just love it! I paired them with a gradient of Danglefoot Nail Polish 'Toucan Play at that Game' and 'Beaky Blinder', and also used the both polishes to colour in my cupcake cases.

May 31st - Trees
Finally, here's my tree mani. I knew as soon as I read this prompt that I wanted to go for the close up bark/tree grain look. I started with a base of Barry M Green Origins 'Butterscotch'.My ring finger is a base of Barry M 'Ocean Blue', with Painted Polish 'Stamped in Greenery' sponged on. All stamped images are from UberChic Beauty plate 2-02.

Tada! If you've got this far through the post - well done! What do you think? As I mentioned at the beginning, I've really enjoyed taking part. It's given me so much inspiration, and I've used plates and images I never have before (so satisfying peeling the blue protective film off to use a plate for the first time!). June's prompts are fruit themed, and I think if I did 9 fruit manis they'd all be a bit same-y. I might skip this months and see what July holds!
Hope to see you in the next post!
Becca x
