Sally Hansen Insta-Dri x Jelly Belly

Hello! Today I have a look at the recent collaboration between Sally Hansen and Jelly Belly.  I found this collection of insta-dri polishes while visiting my Dad in the US in February. I didn't know they even existed until I stumbled across them in Walgreens, and couldn't resist picking up all 11 polishes - 7 cremes and 4 glitter crellies. Read on for my swatches and more info!

'Coconut' is a ever so slightly off-white creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, though as is typical for a white, it does start off streaky. I still had some quite visible streaks after a second coat, so added a third. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Buttered Popcorn' is a off-white/cream crelly base with metallic gold glitter in various sizes. This is very sheer to start with, but has a good formula and builds up nicely. I ended up applying three coats as I could still see a lot of my nail line with two. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Peach' is a peach crelly base with metallic red glitter in various sizes. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. This is a bit more opaque than 'Buttered Popcorn', although still quite sheer at first. Again, I found it built up well. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Very Cherry' is a bright red creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. I often find reds quite sheer, but this was almost a one coater for me. I could just about see my nail line, so did add a second coat. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Strawberry Cheesecake' is a shimmery dusty pink crelly base with metallic purple glitter in various sizes. It has a smooth, easy to apply formula. As with the previous crellies, the base is very sheer and so I applied three coats. You do get a lot of glitter out for all of them though! Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Bubble Gum' is a bright pink creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. I found this one a bit streaky, and still had some very minor streaks after my second coat. If you aren't picky or have shorter nails, you could easily get away with two coats. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Tutti-Fruitti' is a light purple crelly base with metallic glitters in various colours and sizes. The base on this one is much sheerer than the previous crellies, though it does apply nicely. I did three coats, and while you can still see my nail line fairly well, the glitter distracts from it. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Island Punch' is a dusty purple creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. This was a little bit streaky on the first coat, so needed a second. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Blueberry' is a darker blue creme. It has a smooth, easy to apply formula. The first coat was slightly patchy and lighter than the colour in the bottle. A second evened everything out and deepened the colour. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Berry Blue' is a lighter blue creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. This has good coverage on the first coat, but does need a second to even out a few streaks. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Green Apple' is a green creme. It has a super smooth, easy to apply formula. This was almost a one coater for me. I added a second coat to even out some very minor streaks, but could easily have got away without it. A thicker or more careful coat would definitely be opaque in one. What do you think? I'm glad I bumped into this collection in Walgreens - I think it's such a fun collaboration! It's always interesting when drugstore/mainstream brands play around with the more unique finishes such as crellies. Although they did start off sheer, as mentioned they do build up well and you get a good amount of glitter. The also do find that the insta-dri line dries quickly, as advertised.

Unfortunately for UK people like myself, I don't tend to see Sally Hansen's collaboration collections. There is however limited US availability from Ulta, Target, and Amazon (see specifics on the Sally Hansen website here).

Hope to see you in the next post!
