Hello! Today I'm back with a review of a new UK indie brand launching on 1st July, Polished Cosmetics. The owner Ceri was kind enough to send me one her Royalty Duo to share with you all in preparation for her shop opening. I also did some simple nail art using both polishes together. Read on for my full swatches and more info! Before I jump in, I wanted to quickly address the packaging. Both polishes arrived quickly and safely, and were neatly wrapped in tissue paper and labelled. I know a lot of people appreciate the small touches, so wanted to show you.
'Knight' is a matte black with bronze flakies. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. It does start off a bit sheer, but this helps the flakies show through the black base. It didn't quite reach full opacity for me in two coats, so I added a third. This dries down quickly to the matte finish. Below is three coats without topcoat.

'Crown' is a rich shimmery bronze. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. Again, this does start off a bit on the sheer side, but I found these to be the more opaque of the two. Those with shorter nails could most likely get away with two coats, though I did add a third. Below is three coats with topcoat.
Now for my nail art. I wanted to do something super simple but also a bit more freehanded, as I do like to try and switch it up rather than always stamping. I settled on some rough, chunky freehanded stripes of 'Crown' over a base of 'Knight'. I kept the matte finish of 'Knight' to add a bit more contrast.

What do you think? It feels like so long since I've worn darker polish! I've definitely been wearing a lot more brights and pastels recently, so it's nice to switch things up a bit. I had no problems with the formula of either polish in the duo, and they compliment each other really nicely.
Polished Cosmetics is launching on 1st July 2019. All polishes are 10-free, cruelty free, and vegan. You can find more swatches and updates on the brand Instagram page here.
Hope to see you in the next post!
