Hello lovelies! Today I'm back with a look at the April 2018 Mani and Lola box (see March's box here). Now that we're finally starting to get some warmer days, I looked forward to a box full of spring goodies. The Mani and Lola team treated us to 7 products, and also snuck in a few mini chocolate eggs as an Easter treat. Read on for my full swatches and a look at everything inside!
First up for polishes is Essie 'Sand Tropez', a beigey nude creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. As is typical with nudes, this does start off a bit streaky. A second coat evened most of this out, though I did add a third to make sure. Below is three coats with topcoat.
Next is Nails Inc 'Ocean Ever After', a sparkly blue with green shimmer. This is from the Self Made Mermaid Duo, along with 'Mermaid Parade' which we recieved in February's box (swatched here). This is smooth and easy to apply, and has great coverage in two coats. I did add a third, but it didn't make much difference. Below is three coats with topcoat.
Next is Morgan Taylor 'Prettier in Pink', a hot pink creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, and covers evenly. I could still see my nail line after the first coat, so added a second. Below is two coats with topcoat.
Last up for polishes is Zoya 'Marley', a soft lilac with a silver shimmer. The formula is smooth, although I did find it easy to overmanipulate which caused streaks. I still had some streakiness on the second coat, so added a third. Below is three coats with topcoat.
This month we also recieved three treatments/extras. First is the Jessica Cosmetics Reward basecoat. This is a calcium and aloe enriched basecoat which is said to maximise growth, promote flexibility, and make nails 'radiant'. I'll have to give it a go.
Finally, we have a bottle of Essie's Quick-E Drying Drops, and a pot of acetone free remover pads from Elegant Touch. If I'm honest, I wouldn't usually gravitate towards either of these as I have my go to quick dry topcoat and removers. That being said, both are super handy, especially for on the go!
What do you think? Mani and Lola have once again given us a massively good value for money box. I'm always impressed with how much they squeeze in for the price. Unfortunately this wasn't my favourite box so far, as I don't think either the Essie or Zoya suit my skin tone. My favourite item this month would have to be the Nails Inc polish - it's so pretty!
Hope to see you in the next post!
