Road to Polish Con (Chicago 2017) - Part 1

Hello! Today I have swatches of some of my picks from last fall's Road to Polish Con. For those who don't know, Road to Polish Con is a series in which some of the attending makers (usually three a week) release limited edition polishes online in the run up to Polish Con itself. I ended up ordering twelve polishes altogether. To avoid making one super long post, I'm going to split this into several, starting with the first four polishes. Read on for my full swatches!

I planned to swatch my picks in order of the weeks they were released. Unfortunately due to an order mix up, two of the polishes I purchased were unintentionally swapped for others. This included the Ever After Polish for week 1. If I get a replacement, I'll add it in to a later post.

My next purchases were from week 5, where I grabbed all three! First is Different Dimension 'Odyssey II', a bright pink linear holographic with subtle copper shimmer. It has a super smooth and easy to apply formula. I seem to be doing thinner coats at the moment, so although I did a third to cover faint nail line, two should be fine. Below is three thin coats with topcoat.

Next is Glisten & Glow 'Spirit of Chicago', a purple holographic with shimmer and silver microflakes. The formula is very smooth and easy to apply. The first coat is slightly light and sheer, but a quick second deepens it and brings it fully opaque. Below is two coats with topcoat.

Finishing off week 5 is Cupcake Polish 'Mystic Blue', a blue linear holographic with large green to blue shifting shimmers. It has a very smooth, easy to apply formula. It is a bit on the sheer side on the first coat, so does need a second for full opacity. Below is two coats with topcoat.

I didn't purchase any week 6 polishes, although I did recieve one due to the mix up, so I thought I might aswell include it! Scofflaw 'Charlotte Spinning Stars' is a grey crelly base with shimmer and various colour glitters including silver, gunmetal, and navy. I do thinner coats with crellies, so needed a quick third for some minor light patches. Below is three thin coats with topcoat.

What do you think? The Scofflaw isn't normally something I'd gravitate towards myself, but I do like it in person - especially the pops of blue. The Different Dimension, Glisten & Glow, and Cupcake Polish all go perfectly together. I'll have to see if I can do some nail art including all three. I'll be back with part 2 soon!

Hope to see you in the next post!
