Hi. It's still a bit of a hectic month for me, so for todays post I have a couple of swatches that have been sat in my draft posts. As some of you know, I was lucky enough to go Polish Con Chicago again last year, and bought a VIP ticket. Shamefully I haven't used too many of the polishes from the VIP bag yet - but I do have two of them to show you today. Read on for my full swatches!
Alter Ego 'Hot Times in Old Town' is a colourful matte neon circle glitter topper. The glitters do sink fairly quickly in this, so I did sit it upside down for a bit first. It applied easily, although I did dab a couple of extra glitters on in some places. Below is one coat (with topcoat) over black.
Bohemian Polish 'Second City' is a soft shimmery nude with what look like subtle red flakes. It has a smooth, easy to apply formula. This is on the sheer side. However it does apply evenly. I could still see my nail line after three coats, so this is definitely one for those who like softer, sheerer polishes. Below is three coats with topcoat.
What do you think? I love 'Hot Times in Old Town' - you can never go wrong with a bright fun topper! Unfortunately, I don't think 'Second City' is for me. It doesn't particularly suit my skin tone. That being said, I think it could be lovely as a delicate mani or as a base colour for nail art.
Hope to see you in the next post!
