October MeeBox - Femme Fatale

Hello! Today I have Octobers MeeBox to share. If you missed Septembers 'Bollywood Nights' MeeBox, you can find that here. Octobers theme was 'Femme Fatale', and it was announced that it would be an indie brand takeover. My first guess was NCLA as I can safely say that I guessed correctly! Read on for a closer look at everything, and for my full swatches and nail art!

'Ask the Magic 8 Ball' is a white creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, although being a white, it does start off fairly streaky. A second coat evens out most of the streaks and brings it fully opaque. I was tempted to add a third coat, but once dried and topcoated most of the streaks did disappear. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Rush Hour' is a rich, bright red creme. It has a smooth, easy to apply formula. This is a bit sheer on the first coat but does apply evenly. I could still see my nail line quite clearly after a second coat, so added a third. This dries down glossy. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Back to Black' is a black creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. This has good opacity on the first coat, although it wasn't quite a one coater for me. I did have some lighter patches so added a second to even everything out. Below is two coats with topcoat.

I had heard that all three polishes stamped, so I gave it a quick test. Below shows a rough first attempt with each. I can happily confirm that they do stamp well!

Along with the polishes, we also recieved a Femme Fatale glass nail file, and a sheet of nail wraps in the Leather & Lace design. I only use glass and crystal files now so it will be handy to have a spare. The nail wraps aren't massively to my taste, but they are easy to use and definitely fit the theme.

When I did my nail art for this month, I was still in the Halloween spirit. I decided to incorporate the nail wraps and all three polishes into a blood splatter mani - which also fits the femme fatale theme, right? I painted my index and pinky with 'Ask the Magic 8 Ball', added wraps to my middle and ring nails, and then splattered on both 'Rush Hour' and 'Back to Black'.

What do you think? I have to be honest, I was a bit disappointed when I first opened this box. NCLA have a massive range of polishes, and I had hoped for slightly more exciting colours and finishes. That being said, all three cremes do have great formulas and they stamp which is always handy. They also worked together really well. Next months theme has already been announced, and I'm super excited!

Hope to see you in the next post!
