Hello lovelies! I have a very exciting post for you. My gorgeous friend Lea (Leas Nails) used to own indie brand Charming Tale. She has recently reopened and rebranded as Sparklea Nail Polish. Sparklea's debut collection was based around one of Lea's favourite things, Harry Potter! Shockingly, I bought all six polishes on the opening night (31st January), and I'm only just sharing my swatches now - sorry Lea! Read on for my full swatches and more info!
The Harry Potter collection consists of one polish for each of the four houses, and then two 'extras'. Two more polishes are being added to the collection on the 23rd March - I will have swatches for them as soon as possible!
'Hufflepuff' is a gorgeous bright sunshine yellow shimmer with scattered holographic. This has an amazing formula for a yellow. It goes on smoothly and so evenly - not a streak in sight! It is a little bit sheer on the first coat, but is easily opaque with a second. It dries very shimmery and sparkly, so you could easily get away without topcoat. Below is two coats and topcoat.
'Ravenclaw' is a rich shimmery blue scattered with small silver holographic glitters. This has a lovely, smooth formula. The first coat is a little bit patchy, but adding a second evens everything out and covers completely. I can see how you might need a third coat if you apply this thinly or overwork it. Below is two coats and topcoat.
'Slytherin' is a scattered holographic jade green. This has a gorgeous formula and applies nicely. It covers really well on the first coat, only needing a thin second to reach full opacity. The holographic in this is pretty, topcoat really brings out the sparkle. Below is two coats with topcoat.
'Gryffindor' is a deep shimmery red with small gold glitters. According to Pottermore, this is my house! Again, this has a great formula and covers in two easy coats. The glitters distribute evenly without any effort, and you can't feel them at all when applying. This dries a tiny bit textured due to the glitter. Below is two coats with topcoat.
'Floo Powder' is a purple base with multicoloured glitters. This applies really smoothly considering the amount of glitter, and is much more opaque than I expected. The first coat is a little bit patchy, but covers really well. A quick second coat evens everything out and is fully opaque. This dries a bit textured from the glitter but is easily smoothed out. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Mirror of Erised' is a clear base with holographic glitter, gold glitter, and tiny coloured flakes. This is sheer enough to be used as a topper, but can also be built up on it's own, either in three coats or by sponging it on. I decided to sponge it on to ensure full opacity. I used Lea's own 'Invisibility Cloak' latex to protect my skin. As I'd sponged it on, this did dry down a bit textured so I did add topcoat.

What do you think? I don't have a bad thing to say! The formulas on these are amazing, they basically apply themselves. I can't quite pick a favourite. It's a tie between 'Floo Powder' for the gorgeous mix of colour and overall uniqueness, or 'Hufflepuff' because of its brightness (and well, the fact it's yellow!).
You can find all six of these on the Sparklea Nail Polish website here. They are currently out of stock but are restocking on the 23rd March. Check out the Instagram page here for more swatches!
Hope to see you in the next post!
