October MeeBox Unboxing & Swatches - Sugar Skulls

Hello! Today I have swatches of October's MeeBox to share with you. This is a very late post as I got carried away with Halloween designs last month, and ended up a fair bit behind on my swatching. If you missed September's box, you can see my swatches here and nail art here. October's theme was Sugar Skulls, read on for full swatches and a look at everything inside!

First up is Deco Miami 'Miley What's Good', a hot pink creme. This came in an adorable little box and while it is the brand's standard size, it is only 5.75ml. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. While I wouldn't say this was sheer, I did need three coats to fully cover my nail line. This also dried very glossy. Below is three coats without topcoat.

Next is 'Ard As Nails 'Taking A Dip', a bright blue with light blue shimmer. This has a gorgeous formula, and applies smoothly and easily. It is a little bit sheer on the first coat but builds up to be completely opaque in two. The shimmer does show up on the nail, it's really pretty! Below is two coats and topcoat.

Last up is Annika by The Edge Nails 'White Swan' a white creme. It has a typical white formula, and is a bit streaky to begin with. A second thicker coat does even this out, but I found that I preferred using three thinner coats. Thinner coats seem to go on easier, and resulted in a smoother finish. Below is two to three coats with topcoat.

As our extras this month, we received not only two but three items to create out sugar skull manis:

A black nail art pen from WAH London, with both a nib and a striping brush.

A thin and precise nail art brush from Sparkly Nails.

And lastly, a little packet of filmo flowers from Charlie's Nail Art.

What do you think? I think it's actually quite a good box! I wouldn't say these were particularly Autumn/Winter colours, but they are a nice pop of brightness and do fit the theme. I also like how we haven't been given a sugar skull plate or decals, and actually have to create our own. I should hopefully have my nail art look posted soon!

You can find out more about MeeBox and subscribing here.

Hope to see you in the next post!

    1. I don't think the items were too exciting on their own (except the blue!) but it all worked so well together for the theme. Thank you Vicky xx

  21. The white is really nice, but I hate goopy, streaky polishes. And three coats...I barely have time to give myself two coats, haha! But it is a beautiful white!
