Tux Polish - Swatches & Review

Hello! Today I have swatches of my first ever Tux Polish's to show you. Dominique was kind enough to send me one of her discounted swatch kits containing three mystery polishes from current stock. The polishes I received were 'Mrs Claws', 'Candy Corn' and 'Season of Love'. Read on for full swatches and more info!

I wanted to quickly address application. The bottles are tall so have long brush stems. If you're not careful, polish will drip down the stem and flood your nail. I would advise wiping off the stem before applying to avoid this. Other than that, all three had gorgeous smooth, self-levelling formulas that were easy to apply. Onto the swatches!

'Mrs Claws' is a pink-leaning red with a jelly/crelly formula, and is from the Jingle All The Nails Holiday Collection. This was opaque in just one coat! Because of it's jelly nature it also dried super shiny and glossy. I did topcoat out of habit but it made absolutely no difference to the finish. Below is one coat and topcoat.

'Candy Corn' is a bright neon yellow. It forms part of the Candy Corn Trio alongside 'Poltergeist' and 'Jack O' Lantern'. For a yellow, this had a really good formula. I was heavy handed on the first coat so ended up needing a quick third to even everything out - but you should able to get away with two. Shown below is three coats and topcoat.

'Season of Love' is a peach holographic with a slight pink tone. It is the namesake polish of the Valentines Season Of Love Collection. This is a very unique colour to my collection. I just love how delicate it is, and for a softer colour it has great opacity. Below is two coats and topcoat.

What do you think? I actually can't pick out a favourite - I love them all for different reasons! I've had a great first experience with Tux Polish and can't wait to try out some more colours! All three polishes mentioned above are currently in stock here on their website. They do ship internationally at a very reasonable price.

Hope to see you in the next post!

  2. Love the red being a one coat, I would use and buy that, again the yellow is such a string rich colour, but not sure if it would suit my skin tone,
    But great post Magic Princess!
