Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Glitters

Hello! I have a very exciting post for you today! Barry M have treated us to even more new polishes, this time in the form of two Gelly Hi-Shine glitters - 'Sparkling Amethyst' and 'Sparkling Ruby'. These are the first Gelly Hi-Shines to have glitter and I really hope they won't be the last! I have both of them to show you today - read on for more info and swatches!

'Sparkling Amethyst' is a deep purple bursting with sparkly glitter. It applied super smoothly but just a little sheer and patchy on the first coat. It looks a lot more like a raspberry colour on the first coat:

A second coat evens out any patchiness and deepens the colour to match the bottle. Below is two coats and topcoat.

'Sparking Ruby' is a deep ruby red full of gorgeous bright red glitter. This was much closer to the colour in the bottle after one coat than Sparkling Amethyst. Again it applied smoothly but a little bit patchy and sheer on the first coat:

It evened out perfectly on the second coat, and the colour deepened slightly. This one really reminds me of Dorothy's shoes from the Wizard of Oz. I have a similar pair somewhere that this has inspired me to go and dig out of my wardrobe.

As with all of Barry M's Gelly nail paints, both polishes dried quickly to a shiny, plump looking finish. The glitter didn't dry gritty or textured, but I did add topcoat to help bring out the sparkle of the glitter that little bit more. They were also really quick and easy to remove - no need to worry about fighting to remove the glitter!

I absolutely love these and think they will be staples for the colder months, especially as we get closer to Christmas. Sparkling Ruby would be a perfect glittery festive red. These are both exclusive to Superdrug and are available in store now!
